Along with the other There was an old lady who swallowed books students can look for rhyming words throughout the story. A comprehension activity for this book could be a sequencing activity. The students could write or use picture to place the events in sequential order. Another activity for writing practice would be to allow the students to come up with their own Christmas item to swallow and include a picture to present to the class.
